Looking for Help with Freezer Cooking

I've been interested in freezer cooking for some time now, so I finally made the decision to invest in a chest freezer for our garage. Since I'm a newbie, I don't know where to start. Do any readers have advice? Recipe suggestions? Do I need a vacuum sealer, if so what do you recommend? I'd love to get some meals ready to go before the baby arrives in about 10 weeks. Thank you in advance for the help!

  1. Hey there! I do a bit of freezer cooking, but my problem has always been that I make it, freeze it, then forget about it! However, I do make my kids breakfasts and freeze them. You can check it out here-http://liliannagrace.blogspot.com/2011/01/state-testing-breakfasts-in-jiffy.html
I don't have a vaccuum sealer so I use my "straw method". I also have a post somewhere about how I freeze my bulk ground beef. I have a book that is full of recipes and useful information called "The Freezer Cooking Manual From 30 Day Gourmet." By Nanci Slagle. I hope this info helps with your nesting and preparing :). I also make my marinara base and freeze that in freezer bags with the straw method and use it for things like baked ravioli. YUM!
