Opinion Outpost: Citi Gift Cards now available!

 Photobucket

Earlier today I completed a survey on Opinion Outpost and noticed in the rewards section of my account that you can now request a gift card from Citi! This is pretty exciting because it gives you another option other than Amazon gift cards or checks. Opinion Outpost was one of my favorite sites before - I've earned almost $200 in the past year - but now I'm even more happy with this source of earning money online.

In case you are a new reader and wonder why I mention survey sites so often, it is because I pay for a lot of the eco-friendly and organic items my family uses with money I earned online. It's another way to help make being green more affordable.

Pinecone Research is accepting new members!

 Photobucket
Pinecone Research is currently accepting new panel members! This is by far one of my favorite survey companies because they pay $3 per survey, which usually takes about 15-20 minutes to complete, and the money is deposited to your Paypal account the next day or sent by check immediately. One of the other great things is you are qualified for each of the surveys invites they send out, unlike other companies where you fill out a short screening survey only to find out you don't fit the demographics. Pinecone Research allows one member per a household to join. If you are interested, sign up fast before they run out of spots.

Review and Giveaway: Ecover All Purpose Cleaner - CLOSED

 Photobucket

Ecover was founded in 1980 in Belgium, and has since developed into the world’s largest producer of ecological cleaning products. Besides its headquarters outside of Antwerp, Belgium, Ecover has sites in the U.S., the United Kingdom, Germany, France and Switzerland, and their products are marketed in more than 26 countries. Ecover offers a variety of cleaning products that are phosphate-free and made from plant based and mineral ingredients.

My mom has been using Ecover cleaners for years, and she swears by them. I had yet to try Ecover products in my own home, so I contacted them about testing one of their cleaners. Ecover generously provided me with their All Purpose Cleaner.

Photobucket

Much to my delight, I've been able to use the all purpose cleaner all over the house! I love finding a cleaning product that can handle a wide range of jobs because it cuts down on the number of bottles I have under the sink. Also, it saves time when I'm cleaning a room because I don't have to switch between products. The all purpose cleaner is great for floors, counters, and other hard surfaces. I love the pleasant lemon scent that isn't over-powering. Another great feature of this product is how economical it is. A little goes a long way and one bottle will last me for months!

All natural cleaners are a must for our family, in order to keep our home safe from dangerous toxins. Because Ecover is all natural, I don't have to worry about using their all purpose cleaner around my son. This is great because many times while he is splashing around in the tub, I'm taking advantage of the time to clean the rest of the bathroom. Speaking of bathrooms, here is a great example of a dirty job that the Ecover all purpose cleaner can handle... Recently our new kitten, Chubs, vomited in the bathtub and I didn't notice until it had already dried. I used one cap full of the all purpose cleaner and the mess came right up! Overall, I've been very pleased with the quality and effectiveness of the Ecover all purpose cleaner. I can't wait to try more of their products!

BzzAgent: Free Elmer's Craft Glue and X-Acto products!

BzzAgent is a really cool program based on word of mouth marketing, that gives you the opportunity to try new products for free! Once you join, different campaigns will be open for you to participate in,which means that you get to try a product and tell your friends what you think about it. Often you will get samples and coupons to hand out, along with a full size product for you to use and keep! When the campaign ends, you report back on the buzz that you spread about the product.

I recently signed up for the Elmer's craft glue campaign and look what came in the mail today! Earning Money Online: Are surveys worth the time?

I think so! This morning I added up my earnings to date across all of the survey panels and reward sites I'm a member of, and discovered that I've earned $1263.94! Most of the sites I've joined within the past year too! We used the extra cash for birthday and Christmas presents, cloth diapers (from Amazon), grocery items (Amazon), or even going out to dinner (Mypoints gift cards and Paypal money - I have the Paypal debit card).

Here are the earnings for each of the websites, so you can get an idea which sites pay the best. My top picks are the first four: Swagbucks, Pinecone Research, Opinion Outpost, and Lightspeed Panel.

1. Swagbucks - $175.00 (Amazon gift cards)
2. Pinecone Research - $87 (Paypal)
3. Opinion Outpost - $188.10 (Amazon gift cards)
4. Lightspeed Panel - $100 (Amazon gift cards)

5. Toluna - $33.75 (Check at $20)
6. Mindfield - $52 (Paypal)
7. YouData - $.72 (Paypal)
8. Mypoints - $223.62 (Various gift cards)
9. Valued Opinions - $103.50 (Amazon gift cards)
10. MySurvey - $58.00 (Amazon gift cards)
11. Surveyhead.com -  $50.70 (Paypal)
12. Palm Research- $11 (Paypal)
13. HarrisPoll- $5 (Amazon gift cards)

14. Ipsos i-say- $30 (Amazon gift cards)
15. SurveySavvy - $33 (Checks)
16. Other surveys - $112.55

Remember my general tips:
1. Have a "survey" email address - sometimes the invites bombard your inbox!
2. If you have a favorite company click on those surveys first. I get so many requests every day, I scan through and pick the companies that pay better, that have lower cash out minimums, and that I usually qualify for (a lot of surveys I don't make it past the screener).
3. You may think it's just a $1-3 survey, but sometimes something bigger comes out of it! For example, free products, paid follow-up surveys, or paid focus groups. I am now part of a focus group that gives me $10 gift cards every time I comment or take a quick survey, because of one $1 survey I filled out.

MyWonderfulWalls.com: Growing through Giving

 Photobucket

MyWonderfulWalls.com is a husband and wife operated business in Chattanooga, Tennessee. You can find everything from wall stencils, wall murals, to kids wall art on their site. Along with how-to-videos! I think the Forest Friends theme is super cute and may be perfect for baby #2's room :)

Recently MyWonderfulWalls.com contacted me to help spread the word about a program they started called "Growing through Giving." The Growing through Giving program benefits children at the T.C. Thompson’s Children’s Hospital in the Tennessee Valley. Their mission is to bring some color to the rooms of ill and hospitalized children, in order to uplift and comfort them during their hospital stay.

As a former Marriage and Family Therapy student, I am very passionate about Art Therapy and the positive effects art can have on individual healing. That's why I'm so excited about this program and would like to encourage you to offer your support! Every month My Wonderful Walls donates and installs canvas murals in the hospital, but they need your help to keep the program going. All donations go fully towards purchasing materials, and any donation amount can help make a difference!

If you are interested in donating, please click here.

A year old already?

Today is my little man's 1st birthday! Wow a year already! It's incredible how much he has grown and how much he has changed our lives. He's such a little personality... so full of smiles... giggles... and so ornery.

Happy Birthday Jacob, you mean the world to me and daddy. I guess you are no longer a baby, and I have to get used to saying "toddler" now.

Baby #2

I just realized that I announced on my other blog, Army Wife for Now, about baby #2 and I forgot to mention it here. I'm only about 6 weeks along, and so far I'm feeling pretty good. I was able to talk to my hubby in Afghanistan and tell him the news the day after I found out. He is thrilled and hoping for another boy.

Compared to my first, there are a few things different about this pregnancy:
1. I'm eating more organic foods! Some of the foods I've switched to are organic chicken and grass-fed beef, organic milk, organic yogurt, organic cereals, organic juices, organic produce, and homegrown veggies, to name a few.
2. We use all natural cleaners, soaps, and detergents around the house! In the book, HAPPYBABY: The Organic Guide to Baby's First 24 Months, Dr. Robert Sears recommends using natural cleaners as one of the easy changes you can make to protect your family. The toxins in a variety of products are related to a long list of health problems. The change was easy for us considering that natural cleaners work as well or better than their toxic alternatives.
3. Since I'm already familiar with cloth diapers, have a routine, and a stash built up, we will be cloth diapering much sooner with this baby. Hopefully if the diapers fit, from day one. I will need to get a few more diapers, because Jacob probably won't be potty trained by then. However, at least I have a decent supply they can share and I will just have to switch to washing daily.
4. I look different. I've noticed that I'm starting to show already, I blame my stretched stomach muscles. Plus I'm 10 pounds heavier, than I was pre-pregnancy last time around. But that's all okay.

It will be interesting taking care of two little ones by myself during the end of the deployment, but I'm definitely looking forward to adding another baby to our family!

A few things that made me happy today...

Jacob and I went to Kroger this afternoon and it was VERY busy (it's payday in a military city), which isn't what made me happy, however I was thrilled when I noticed that about 1/3 of the customers checking out at the same time as me were using reusable bags! I love that reusable bags is a trend that is really taking off now that they are available everywhere and stores are even offering incentives for customers to bring their own bags. I still have yet to see anyone else with reusable produce bags, but I hope that those catch on soon too!

Later I was feeding Jacob dinner and overheard the cartoon he had been watching in the other room and it was talking about sorting recyclables! I didn't catch what show it was but I know the channel was Nick Jr.
Yay Nick Jr. for introducing recycling to little kids!

I just wanted to share a few things that made me smile today :)
