Baby Food From the Garden


Pumpkin Spice Baby Food:
Slice the pumpkin into pieces, then remove the stringy pulp and seeds
Place in a glass bowl with 1/4 cup of water and cover with plastic wrap
Microwave for 8-10 minutes, or until soft
Spoon out the flesh of the pumpkin and puree in a food processor, add water for desired consistency
Add a little cinnamon and blend into the puree (for older babies)



Yellow Squash:
Peel the yellow squash and slice into pieces
Place in a glass bowl with 3 tablespoons-1/4 cup of water and cover with plastic wrap
Microwave for 5-7 minutes, or until soft
Pour the squash and water into the food processor and puree


Store the puree in an ice cube or baby food tray and freeze until use.
